What the World Eats
Rick posted a link to this cool photo article on what the world eats. It fascinated me. First, it really points out how much more industrial countries pay just to have their food wrapped in plastic. The Japanese, Americans and Europeans seem to have this need to have their food presented in a brightly colored plastic packaging that adds tremendously to their food costs.
This got me thinking. When you see the food of the Japanese family, almost every piece of it is wrapped. What does Japan do with all this trash? They're just a small island. How do they deal with this stuff?
Also check out how much the German family spends a week. How much do they pay these people?
