Strep's in the House
After spending 2 hours at the urgent care center, I got the news: Monkey Boy has strep and is highly contagious AND can't go back to school until Thursday. [Insert sounds of me softly sobbing.] Monkey Boy actually jumped up and did a cheer which ended with an exuberant tushie dance, much to the doctor's amusment. Shoot me now.

Oh. No. That sounds just about like the most dreadful thing I've heard...since I've spent most of my time on the sick ward for the past two months. You know it's bad when you look at the nanny and say, "Toodlepeep was up all night puking. Gotta go to work." Then nobody shows up for yoga and instead of going home to take care of your ailing child you go to Starbucks to read the NY Times. Worst mother ever, I am.
Thursday????? I thought strep was no longer contagious after 48 hours on antibiotics???? For God's sake, no body tell my kids!! Poor monkey mom!
48 hours? My Doc sends us back after 24? Hmm.
How is it that when they're afflicted with this dreaded strep they are so energetic; Especially after the first dose of antibiotic.
Another hmm.
I feel your pain.
And look how smart Liv is--Smart mom-not worst mom. You gotta re-charge.
...so sorry to hear about the strep. Be sure to throw out the toothbrush (it holds the germs...yuk!)
